Welcome to our world, the world of people who speak English
Can you imagine a world where you read the news in English on your daily commute? Where helping out a tourist on the metro is the most natural thing in the world? Where you don’t have to ask for help when you want to write a nice cover letter or update your CV in English? Where you can go out on a Friday night and hit on that cute foreigner at the bar because you don’t have a language barrier that would stop you from having the night of your life?
Where you can watch your favourite shows and movies in English or read that book everyone is talking about? Where you understand all the lyrics of your favourite songs? Where you can always be up to date with the latest slang and have no problem understanding native speakers? Where travelling abroad and getting everything done by yourself is not something you have to worry about?
Of course you can. Well, welcome to our world, the world of people who speak English as a second language.
It’s pretty difficult for me to imagine what it would be like not to be able to speak English. It’s like second nature to me. I don’t ever have to think about a sentence before saying it.
I’m never stressed when I have to have a conversation with a foreigner. I could go on and on about the opportunities this gives me, though I’m pretty sure you already know them. You do know them and you’d give anything to have them yourself.
I know. Learning a language takes a lot of work, effort, money, time, and energy. I get it. I’ve been there. I’ve put in the work, the time, the money, the energy. I never would have thought that teaching and learning at a language school can be fun and fulfilling.
Well, yes, it can. I wouldn’t believe it either if I wasn’t working here and if I didn’t see it every day.
So don’t give up on yourself and give us a try.
